Mildew is mold that grows on fabric or food but the term mildew itself is often used to refer to all kinds of mold growth.

It is commonly seen on plants and vegetation.

It can also appear as bathroom, basement and any other household mold, being able to thrive on all kinds of materials, such as tiles and concrete, leather and paper, floors, walls and ceilings.

It can be cleaned with proper mold removal cleaning products.

Toxic mold in homes can sometimes be very harmful to health, particularly black mold. It grows in damp environments where there is no ventilation and lack of adequate moisture control.

The most common cause for mildew is moisture and humidity. Having a humid area in your house can most likely be the area or room you have problems with.

How to get mildew out of clothes and how to kill mold?

Nowadays, there are many cleaning products that are available to help you fight this health threatening fungal growth. There are also products which can be used to prevent its spread in the home such as dehumidifiers, air purifiers, and air filters. Air filters and purifiers will help clean out the loose spores from the air which can often cause allergy symptms. Dehumidifiers  will help in drying out the moisture and humidity in the air.

Mildew mold can cause really big problems in your home and if you ignore it there is a chance it can get out of control. The fresh smell of a well aired home becomes replaced with a very strong, musty odor that is really unpleasant and unhealthy to breathe.

Mold allergy symptoms can include:

  • Depression and Mood Swings
  • Exhaustion or general fatigue
  • Panic Attacks and feeling anxious
  • Joint Pains in hips, knees etc
  • Abdominal Bloating, feeling full and uncomfortable
  • Swelling of legs and ankles

Mold Health Effects

Someone who is suffering from a mold allergy may notice some changes in how they feel, and body parts may begin to hurt when the weather changes. When it rains the mold gets worse and rises because of the damp. Touching mold or mold spores can cause a topical allergic reaction.

The health problems that you can encounter from mold exposure:

  • Allergic reactions
  • Infections
  • Toxic effects due to mycotoxins
  • Irritation of tissues, particularly in the nose and throat
